Midnight Snack 007: Creative Web
Our newsletter aims to shed light, add some explanation, and hopefully a bit of inspiration around certain technology trends and how they might impact the creative industry.
Even if you weren’t doing dry Jan, the first month of the year can feel, well, dry. But we’re excited to be emerging out of dark mode now 🌝 We’ve been having fun exploring how we can get more creative and playful in our coding 💻 And our Studio is looking beautiful and brighter than ever ✨

This month, we’re focusing on creativity. The web has a long history as a creative playground 🌐🌀 Providing spaces for people to find their communities, create and collaborate together. Encouraging people to share skills and support each other’s creative journeys. Opening up sandboxes for people to express their identities in ways they might not be able to away from keyboard (AFK).
As tech tools become increasingly more accessible, the web continues to spark new methods of creating ✨ From the days of net art, through to NFTs and the abundance of coding, 3D modelling and AI tools we’re presented with now - the opportunities for our creative dialogue with the web are continuously emerging, evolving and expanding 💫
For Midnight, creativity is at the nucleus of our values. So recently we’ve been wondering, how can we code towards a more creative and playful web? 💻
Code is not always seen as creative, and developers are not often viewed as creatives. But devs don’t belong in the dark, even at Midnight 💻🌙 So we wanted to shed some light on how code can be used as a creative medium in itself…
Code isn’t destined to be serious. It isn’t just a binary blur of 0s and 1s 👾 Code can be playful and imaginative, as much about fun as function. While we can code to solve practical problems, adding a layer of interactivity to designs can provide unexpected, exciting and innovate results 👽
To find out more about how we can use code more creatively, read our Midnight Thoughts.
