Midnight Snack 006: Accessible web
Our newsletter aims to shed light, add some explanation, and hopefully a bit of inspiration around certain technology trends and how they might impact the creative industry.
We’re nearly ready to enter Midnight Mode and log off for the year 🌙 But we thought we’d say hello while we (might) still have your attention 👀 💛 We’ve been dreaming of how we can design for the web in more accessible ways 🌐 Listen to our Midnight Mood playlist to hear the sounds getting us through…
With all of this love towards our Studio, you’d think we’d forgotten about our virtual home… but as devs, we couldn’t resist creating a new space on our website 💻
Where we’ll be sharing our Midnight Thoughts with you… diving deeper into what’s really motivating and inspiring us 💫
This month, (and always) we have accessibility on our minds… as something central to our core values of education, democratisation and tech for good.
So, how can we dream and design towards a more accessible web?
With only 65.7% of the global population in 2023 having access to the internet, there’s still a lot of work to do. We believe that the more people are able to access the web comfortably and confidently, the more people will be exposed to opportunities to learn, earn and create. Access to the web provides vital windows for people to be seen and heard. All essential factors for surviving and thriving in our increasingly digitised world
To hear our take on what accessibility means in relation to the web, why it’s important and how to actually design more accessible web experiences, read the full article here.
Check out some things we’ve spotted throughout the month that might help you imagine a more accessible web… 💛🌐✨

Instead of dumping our entire 2023 project archive on you, we’re zoning in on our own explorations into accessibility within our projects.

SADA - translating to voice in Farsi - aims to create a space for sharing stories about refugees, from refugees. For the new website for Leeds Arts University, we partnered with an accessibility and inclusivity consultancy who conducted an audit of the website before launch. Want to hear more? We’d love to do more projects that centre creativity, accessibility and education. Think we can help you? Drop us a message 💌 Find yourself in East London? Let us know if you’d like to pop in for a coffee ☕️
Thank you, until the next Snack…
